Sofia, 12 May 2008 - The anti-discrimination commission will sit today for the second time concerning the complaint of the journalist Violeta Draganova, a Romani woman, against a Sofia public pool which she, her sister and nephew were banned from entering because they are Roma.

According to Violeta Draganova, the pool attendant explained that the group could not enter the pool because there was a private party there. However, many other people were entering the pool premises with tickets. Draganova's journalist colleagues establishes there was no private party on the premises.

Violeta Draganova believes that the reason for the refusal was her Roma origin. She addressed the anti-discrimination commission with a request to establish the direct discrimination against her.
