BHC sues Sofia City Court for refusal to supply information
Sofia, 25 April 2008 - In a decision from 4 April 2008, the Sofia Administrative Court repealed the refusal of the chair of the Sofia City Court to supply the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee with copies of the court judgements under the Protection from Discrimination Act (PDA).
The BHC requested the judgements in order to make an analysis of the court practice on the application of the new PDA.
The Administrative Court ruled that the claims that the judgements are not public information were not grounded, and sentenced the Sofia City Court to pay the court fees incurred by the BHC.
The judgement is not final and can be appealed before the Supreme Administrative Court.
