Justice Minister Tacheva: I will convene a public council to draft selection procedures
Sofia, 04 October 2007 – The next hearing of the Bulgarian candidates for judge at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is scheduled for 17 December. According to Justice Minister Tacheva their documents have to sent to Strasbourg by mid-November. The three Bulgarian nominations were rejected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
On Monday, an NGO Public Council will convene and analyse the PACE report. Minister Tacheva expects that the NGOs will propose clear and public procedures for new candidates for Bulgarian judge at the Court in Strasbourg.
